if they ever have conjuntivitis go to chemist and get optrex infected eye it is exactly the same , please read both labels and you will see, also get frontline and flea and tick treatments online form canine chemist, also drontal and drontal xl are approx half the price!!! Thank you for the tips.. I plan on getting a little sister for sophie next year so saving a bit of money helps...her eye is looking a bit better now but she still looks a bit misearble . thanks again

On a "lighter" note, I must say my vets (Companion Care in Norwich) have been brilliant for the 10 years I've used them for my hounds. I was particularly impressed when they looked after me (yes me) so well when I was ill................ years ago my first gery, Fred, had an abcess, which had to be lanced. I hadn't realised I was a bit "delicate" and I promptly threw up for about five mintues in the sink at the vets. They looked after me really well, and sat me down out the back whilst I recovered, gave me water etc. I kept trying to apologise (even whilst being sick) something along the lines of "HWOAH I'm really sorry about this HWOAH I'm usually ok HWOAH oh dear can someone hold Fred HWOAH I'll be ok in a minute HWOAH" True story and I was greatly embarassed for years SJx

Tiggy finally had his teeth sorted out yesterday at Anchorage in Acle. And for good measure, at the same time he was 'done' . He was also microchipped, nails cut, complete medical check over, etc, etc.. The damage? (I mean the damage to my wallet!?!) Well, I was quoted £110.00 for a scale and polish including 'one or two possible extractions' which Luke thought might be needed. He explained the cost was high because of the aneasthetic and aftercare. Reasuringly, Luke knew all about greyhounds and their intollerence to certain anaesthetics and medications. Half way through the op he phoned to ask my permission to remove a few more teeth which he had found to be wobbly or diseased. In the event, Tiggs had 18 teeth removed!!!! The cost, including VAT was as follows:- Identichip 18.00 Castration 109.79 (includes cost of anaesthetic and care) Scale and polish 20.00 18 extractions 25.85 Antibiotics 12.52 Pain killers 6.70 Total £192.86 Not bad at all considering what was done to poor Tiggs!!! (Oooh - it makes me so mad that the racing fraternity refuses to answer for this sort of dental abuse! And bad teeth are a sinch compared to everything else these dogs have to go through!!!!) Anyway, I have used Anchorage for many years and thouroughly trust them. Roger and Marna Clark are friends of mine and, although I give them stick about their prices, I do admire their 'state of the art' prmises and the professionalism of the staff they employ. I really can't fault Anchorage for the way it treated Tigger and me yesterday. Within hours of my bringing Tiggs home, he had demolished three bowls of tea and six sausages. And I can't stop him eating now! Oh, and Tiggs still has his dangly bits! Luke at Anchorage is a man (obviously). Although I don't know, I suspect he is of the opinion that dogs suffer a psychological indignity if the physical manifestation of their male dog-hood is cut off completely! I'll ask him when Tiggs goes to have his stitches out.
