I recently placed an order with the Retired Greyhound Trust for greyhound coats, cards and a sticker. Payment was made using PayPal and I received an email the following day acknowledging receipt of order. Those placing an order should “allow up to 28 days for delivery” but I am told the items will be despatched “as soon as possible”. I waited a week and nothing arrived, I waited another week and nothing arrived, I waited another week and nothing arrived and I waited another week and nothing arrived. I have chased up the order twice, was given different reasons for not yet receiving the order and found the person I spoke to on the second occasion abrupt and unsympathetic. The fact they are a charity does not in my view excuse incompetence and I will not be placing an order with the RGT ever again. I would, however, sooner buy greyhound merchandise from a greyhound charity rather than any concern interested only in lining their own pocket and have noticed a good selection of items on the Greyhounds In Need web site (and the work GIN does helping greyhounds is absolutely fantastic). Are there other charities anyone would recommend?

I'm sorry to hear about your problems. I know sometimes things can go wrong, but that doesn't excuse people from being unfriendly and unhelpfull. Yes, you're right to expect a decent service, and four weeks is rather a long while to wait. Have you got your goods yet?

We welcome justified complaints about organisations that supply poor customer service, so as such, we will keep this post up on this board. I had thought that the Retired Greyhound Trust would have been far more responsible than this, and offered their customers a better service. After all, if they lose customers through inefficiency or unprofessionalism, that only damages the charity's image, and will ultimately effect the plight of greyhounds seeking rehoming.
My advice is to try contacting them again, and advise that as the items still haven't shown up - you will expect a full refund to your Paypal accunt. If not, I strongly advise you to report the matter to Paypal. They should be able to help you.

At last! My items have finally arrived and whilst the RGT service is diabolical I have to say I am pleased with the items and, in particular, the coats (see pic). I have not found coats identical to these from any other supplier and the design and quality is very good. They have a lovely warm lining, the high visibility material is a real bonus in poor light conditions and the straps are, in my view, far superior to the Velcro fastening type. And all at a very competitive price. The coats are that bright, however, it is difficult obtaining the correct exposure when taking a photo but I can live with that!

I'm glad they showed up. Perhaps they were particularly busy in the run-up to the Christmas period? You certainly have two very bright Gery's now!
