Hi: I've got an update on this. I have been in touch with the Bookings Secretary at the Eaton Park Community Centre. They are very fully booked at the moment, but have Saturday afternoons (2pm-4pm) put aside for children's parties throughout the year. I stressed the importance we place on responsible dog ownership (and owners!), and I have been invited along to their committee meeting on 17th February to have a chat with them about our proposed plans. This community centre would be an excellent place to meet at. It will allow us a proper meeting place for all members, have some tea, coffee and biscuits, run a raffle, and have a nice walk around the park to finish off with. I will try to "sell" us as best as I can, and will even take our darling little Sugar along to soften them up with her lovely little dreamy eyes! I can't guarantee getting it, but I remain quietly confident. If any of you are in Norwich, it's worth checking the park out - it's a fantastic venue for the purposes we need.

The other place that we could book would be the White Horse Inn at Trowse. This pub would be a "non-gery" meeting place though. However, it is in Norwich, it is cheap, and it does provide a private meeting room, which is quite big.
It could be ideal for booking one evening for a doggy quiz night, or for inviting along a guest speaker perhaps?

White Horse would be good for non-Gery meetings, its easy to find, cheap to hire... and they serve foooooood! Might be a good place for any future committee (however thats spelt!) meetings as its not to big either.

It would be cheaper than the White Horse, and there would be free tea & biscuits too (albeit cheap Lidl ones!) ;D The advantage with Earlham Park tearoom for committee meetings - is that Gery's could attend as well.

J & K's house is good, but beware there biscuits don't like being dunked in your tea... they will fall apart on you and stain your jeans... ;D

I can confirm that the Committee of the Eaton Park Community Centre has contacted me to inform us that the centre would not be available to us, as they do not feel it is hygenic to have dogs inside. This is a bit of a setback, as this would have been the ideal venue. Kitty & I will have a word with Sandra at Earlham Park Tearoom, to see if there could possibly be some way she could assist us with letting us use that venue outside of normal opening hours (ie. 4.30-6.00pm on a Saturday, once a month?). I will keep you updated. In the meantime, if anyone knows of a suitable hall, community centre or other place to hire, please let me know, and I can check out it's potential. Regards-Johnny.

It's a shame that it has fallen through *fingers crossed* about earlham park, it would be cool if that worked out. I wish we could be more help with possible venues, but we just don't know norwich that well. I don't know if you have found any where yet? or if you have got anywhere with earlham park, but if we can help in any way just let us know
