I have been in touch with the organiser of the above day at the Fritton Lake Countryworld, and can confirm that our club has been extended a very warm welcome to their annual "Doggy Day" event - the only day of the year when they allow dogs into their park. We have been allocated an area to put up a gazebo, and to promote our club. In addition - we have also be asked to judge the exemption dog show as well. It would be nice to see a maximum turnout for an event that should prove to be a pleasant day out. I have put a link to their website below, so you can check out further details, and see a map of how to get there. www.somerleyton.co.uk/fritton_lake.htm

HELP NEEDED: If you are certain that you can attend the Fritton Lake Doggy Day on 5th June - please let us know, especially if you can give the club support for an hour or so. I have been asked to judge the Dog Show they are organising, and this will be from about 11am - 3.30pm, with a break for lunch. I would prefer to do this in conjunction with another member - to get a concensus of opinion when choosing winning dogs. Also - we are looking for people to help Kitty out with manning the club stall, which we will have in a gazebo, as we did at the Mildenhall Homefinders Show. Even if you could spare an hour, this would be a great help. Anyone interested? : :

Hi Johnny, You can count us in for the whole day. Well me & Ben anyway - I'm sure Julian would like to help out too but he'd also want to take a walk around . I personally would love to help with the dog show and on the stall for the rest of the time if possible. Anyway, let me know what you want me to do - I'm easy! : :

We have Kitty manning the stall, and we've also got a friend of ours who has offered to help out for an hour or two, so there shouldn't be much of a problem during the morning and midday. Perhaps in the afternoon 1pm-3pm? That would give Kitty an opportunity to take in the scenery, and feed a few ducks! No, seriously though - we wouldn't expect anyone to get posted on the stall for a great length of time. I have just heard from Sarah and Stuart, and they should be coming - so there should be enough people to make light work with covering the stall. : :

We only have four T-Shirts avaiable at the moment: 1x Small 2x Medium 1x Large I was being cautious when I was having them done, and I didn't want to commit too much of the club funds into "stock". If anyone wishes to place an order - we can get them done for them.

: : Another bit of news ................................ Considering the good response, and welcome that we have received from the organiser of the event at Fritton Lake - I've been in touch with our friends at the Gt. Yarmouth RGT Homefinders Group, to see if they knew about the event and were attending? They were keen to book a stall for promotional purposes, and hopefully they should be next to us on the day. I believe they will be offering their "chipping" service for £10 per dog - which is good value for money, especially when you compare it to the prices (up to £40 per dog) charged by some vets. We had our girl Sugar "chipped" at the recent Mildenhall show, and we would strongly recommend it - if you haven't already had your dog done.

The day's weather was not as good as it should have been for June (Can we sue the Met Office for that? ) Anyway, generally - it was a good venture. We had Harry's (brother of Sophie) family join today (welcome guys!), and we also had a gentleman with a Lurcher taking great interest in joining our ranks. It was nice seeing everyone, and I really enjoyed representing the club by judging the dog show, and in dishing out the rosettes. Sorry there wasn't one for you Sophie - but you should have gone into the category "Dog which the Judge would most like to talk away with him"! The staff at Fritton Lake were very helpful, and I thanked them for allowing us the opportunity to promote our club there. I look forward to seeing the pics.
