As many of you know - our club's sponsored walk will be held on Sunday 11th September at Sheringham Country Park, North Norfolk.
There has been a lot of ideas and discussions on where and how any money raised should be used.
It seems to me that there has been a consensus of opinion that it would be nice for our membe.rs to see exactly where our money is going, and last Monday Stuart put forward the excellent idea that as a club - perhaps we could sponsor a greyhound from a charitable organisation like the Mildenhall Homefinders, and personally, I believe that this would be a splendid idea.
I was only talking with one of the Homefinders organisers today, and inquired as to the costs of sponsoring a Gery for a year.
This would work out at around £120 in total.
So, if we decide to do this - £120 would be our target for the sponsored walk.
Please could people indicate what they feel about this idea?
It would have the direct benefit of allowing people to see exactly where their money was going, and wouldn't it also be nice to know that our club has it's own sponsored greyhound? We could even have progress reports and updates posted on this website.
