How do people feel about staging a Jumble Sale - to raise money for our club funds, and perhaps to raise some money for a good cause? A hall would cost about £25.00 to hire, and it will be an excellent way to get memb.ers "pulling together" in a worthwhile, common cause. Kitty & I are in the process of helping out with a local Jumble Sale, and are currently experiencing how to run one successfully. A Jumble Sale would give us publicity, and would also possibly attract new memb.ers? I would propose that the venture be run in conjunction with another group - purely because we do not have the amount of people in our club that could man the event on the day, and to distribute the leaflets in the first place - which would request good, sale-able jumble. What do you guys think?

A jumble sale would be a good idea to raise money, it's just a question of when and who would help out. I would love to say that i could 100% be involved but at the moment it's kinda difficult for me personally . But I think we do have enough of us to pull it off. Really we just need everyones ideas... i think maybe have a committie meeting or a genearl meeting or both ..to put around ideas.. but also to maybe think of possible things to do next yr? I dunno we have a nice group forming so .... i dunno tell us what u think everybody don't be shy

I think any idea that will raise money for club funds, to keep the club running is a good idea. like BB said we have a good group forming who would be supportive of what ever ideas are put forward. You can count on all 4 of the howe family to help out in anyway we can. A jumble sale sounds like a good money spinner, as long as i dont have to take home what we dont sell cos we have enough jumble of our own.

Well, Kitty and I have been acquiring experience on organising a Jumble Sale by being joint organisers of one in Norwich - which will be held on Saturday 30th July at the Eaton Parish Hall, Colman Rd, Norwich, from 2.00pm (..... I know ......... a shameless "plug" eh!).
Anyway, we know how to run one, but we know that we would really need a team of about ten people to promote and run it.
We'll have a chat about it at the next club night (Mon 8th Aug), and will keep this thread running on here to see how many others are interested.

We're interested too just depends on date and time. October might be an idea? Not too close to Christmas, and not in a "busy" time.
