This year's sponsored walk is to be held at the Forestry Commission's Lynford Stag picnic site, on the A134 Thetford to Mundford road (near Mundford) on Sunday 3rd September, from 11.00 am. Please ensure you allow enough time to reach the site by 10.45am, and look out for the people with the whippets and the greyhounds! The charity that we have chosen to support this year - is the Norfolk & Suffolk Animal Trust, at Gt. Yarmouth, and our walk will be approximately 2.5 miles, and should take about an hour and a half. Please bring a packed lunch, and we will have a picnic at the end of the walk. For those who might be interested - you are quite welcome to join Kitty and myself, when we stop off at the Desert Rats Memorial (a genuine WW2 Cromwell Tank) nearby on the A1065. I will be sending a newsletter out to members very soon, which will have a sponsorship form inside. Please get as many sponsors as you can, and lets make this a worthwhile event, and one which will raise a useful sum of money for the splendid team of volunteers at the Norfolk & Suffolk Animal Trust. Two maps showing the area (reproduced with kind permission of the Forestry Commission), are below. Lynford Stag is no.14 on the first map: Below: The Cromwell Tank Memorial at nearby High Ash; a site used by Army tank crews during WW2:

I would like to say "Thank You" to club member Pat. Although she is unable to make the walk, she has pledged a very generous £20 donation, to be added to the total amount raised.
