This year's sponsored walk is taking place at Blickling Hall (Nr. Aylsham), Norfolk, on Sunday 2nd September 2007. We will be raising money for the Hallswood Animal Sanctuary. Blickling Hall is a magnificent Jacobean Hall, and is situated 2 miles NW of Aylsham on the B1354 road. It has a huge estate, which is made up of parkland, ancient trees, and beautiful walks. Please meet at the main car park at 2.00pm (parking fee-£2.00 for all day), for a 2.15pm set-off. We will be going on the Mausoleum walk (approximately 3km), which takes us along the borders of the park, and takes in some stunning views of the English countryside. If you are coming on this walk, please remember to bring a sensible pair of walking shoes/boots, and some water for your dogs. The other tip we have for you is - Please remember to bring some food and drink, in case you might need it. There is a shop near the car park which sells refreshments, but we found this to be very highly priced - so it would probably be best to bring your own refreshments! I have just sent out the latest newsletter, and have included a sponsorship form, and map of how to get to Blickling Hall in each one. Come on Guys - Let's raise some BIG money for Hallswood, to support the wonderful work they do (link to Hallswood below): www.hallswood.co.uk/

If you are not a member and would like to join us on the walk, then please feel free to get in touch and register yourself. We will then send you one of our sponsorship forms. Alternatively, simply meet us on the day and make a suitable donation (suggested amount - £5.00?) We will be pleased to hear from you, or seeing you on the day.

NB: Obviously, this is in place of the usual "Bark-in-the-Park".

All being well we'd love to come (assuming lurchers are allowed as well as gerys?). I'll pm my address for a sponsorship form.
Is the car park the one near the hall itself?

Hi: I've just emailed you a sponsor form. Well, I did the second time - First time I forgot to attach it! We look forward to seeing you there. The car park is the one just past the Hall, near the Farm Shop.

I'm thinking I should be ok for this event, but in the event that I cant make it I might take my sponsor form to work and tell people that I am sponsoring the club, then if I don't make it I can still collect the money on the clubs behalf, with the possiblity of around 200 staff sponsoring the club, well worth a shot!!!
Even if I do come i'm not sure Sohpie will be there, but who knows we shall see!

Only one day to go. Has everyone got lots of sponsors? Please remember, that if you haven't got any sponsors, but would like to come along anyway, then you're more than welcome. Perhaps you could make a donation on the day.

Just in case anyone's interested - Kitty & I will be at the car park about half an hour earlier, to have a packed lunch. Be nice to see you, if you can make it.

I would like to pass my sincere thanks to those that turned out for the sponsored walk today, and also to everyone who has been so good as to sponsor us and offer donations. Currently the total amount pledged in somewhere in the region of about £150.00. Please try to get the money collected in and to us within the next few weeks. We will put this money with the money raised from the quiz night, and do a cheque presentation to Hallswood towards the end of the month. Hopefully, the total will then be over £300.00. I have been in touch with Keith (the vet at Hallswood), and he's thanked everyone for their support. He has informed me that the money will go towards an X-Ray machine for the sanctuary, which is now viewed an essential piece of equipment for them, especially with the amount of traffic accident victims they have come in. An X-Ray machine will cost £2,500, so our £300 is a good start towards that goal. Let's hope that if we get a bit of media cover from this, it could help Hallswood get some more donations from local businesses and people. Well done everyone!

Please could you get your sponsor money in. We're still waiting for a few payments. The sooner we get all the money in, the sooner we will be able to present a cheque to Hallswood.
