Bad news on our dog front - Sugar (aka "Lizzie") is a very ill little girl at the moment. It all started after the "Bark-in-the-Park" meeting. She was very lethargic, and started walking a lot slower, along with her other reactions slowing down dramatically. She's had a high temperature, and has great difficulty walking. Also, she's in obvious discomfort when she tries to lay down or stand up. We've kept her indoors since Monday, and have taken her to the vets each day. She's had blood tests, and now X-rays, but they can't pin-point exactly what it is. She really is a very poorly little thing at the moment. She's incapable of going for any walk - other than to the end of the garden, and then I have to carry her back. She is also very uncomfortable nightime, and often cries in the night. So I usually end up keeping her company, and not getting much sleep myself. The vets believe she's suffering from a possible womb or spinal infection, and she's now been put on a course of antibiotics for the next ten days. It's a real shock seeing her like this, as she's always such a bright, cheerful (and mischievous) little girl. Mind you - her temperature has now come down, and is the upper part of "normal", and thankfully, at least she's still got her appetite. We've been spoiling her on fresh chicken and even prawns. Nothing's too good for our little girl. So, here's hoping for good luck for our Lizzie!

Oh No, poor litle Sugar - bless her heart. Sorry to hear that she is unwell & really hope she's better soon. It's awful when your pets are ill isn't it. At least if her temperature is coming down now and she has her appetite then she's hopefully turned the corner and is on the road to recovery - I hope so anyway. Let us know how she is tomorrow please Johnny

Sugar's condition has definately improved. Her temperature is almost back to normal, and she's had X-Rays (couldn't find anything), and is on a course of antibiotics for the next ten days.
I'm glad to see her getting better, and she managed to walk around most of Eaton Park today. Good little Sugar. She's proven to be a very tough little dog!
We've now got to put the vets bill (nearly £300) in to our Pet Insurance company. I bet they'll love us!

Sugar's back to 90% her old self now. We're really pleased with her. The Auntie-B's are working a treat.
