We have just got back from a pleasant day at Nottcutts, Norwich, who held their Doggy Day today - helping to raise money for the Guide Dogs for the Blind Charity. Although the day got off to a wet start, the weather improved as the morning went on, and quite a large number of people turned up to the event. The two dog stars "Welland" and "Terrance" from EastEnders were there, and the event was very well hosted by Crufts (and former Blue Peter) Presenter Peter Purves. In a break in the proceedings, we were pleased to meet Peter, and have a chat with him about our club. He thought we were doing a splendid job, and told us to "Keep up the Good Work". I would like to express my thanks to club members Tanya, her mum Edna, her son Thomas, and Frances who attended the event. Tanya's Italian Greyhounds were very popular with the public, but were nearly always mistaken for baby whippets! So .............. we had Italian Greyhounds, Whippets and Lurchers, but we were sadly lacking Greyhounds. Now, I have to ask the question - just where are the Greyhounds, or in the words of one local lady "LET'S BE 'AVING YOU!". At this rate we'll soon have to be renaming the club "The Italian Greyhound & Whippet Club"! Below: Johnny, with Sugar & Star Below: Public attending the show. Peter Purves is in the centre of the photo Below: Left to Right - Edna and Thomas (Tanya's mum & son) with dogs "Mabel", "Sophie" and "Blue", Peter Purves & Johnny with "Star" and "Sugar".
