Here's a photo of the £400 cheque presentation to Hallswood Animal Sanctuary. This was the result of the recent quiz night and the sponsored walk.
In the photo is Lyz (left), Keith (middle), Johnny (right) and three of the girls that kindly give up their time to help out at the Sanctuary.
At the front is the Collie dog that was recently taken in - blind, starved, and mistreated by a former owner. I'm pleased to say she's making a splendid recovery, and she's such a lovely, friendly little dog.
You've heard people say "I prefer animals to humans?". Well, this dog really sums that statement up.
That simple animal is a million times better than the selfish, excuse for a human being who previously owned her. When she comes up to you, and licks your hand, ie-doesn't hold any hatred, resentment, or bitterness towards our race at all - it's a very humbling thing to observe.
Most animals have better qualities than ourselves. They show a greater degree of loyalty, love and trust, and unlike most humans - they don't hold grudges.
