Here's a few photos from the other day. Kitty, myself and the kids, went down for a walk down Whitlingham Lane. We drove right past the lake, and parked the car further up (near where the lane meets the bypass). There's a wood to the right, which is very hilly in parts. On top of one of the hills is the remains of a medieval church, which I believe has been derelict since the 17th century. You can't get close to it, as it's deemed as a dangerous building. But it's clearly visible from the road, when you're walking (below): We were amazed at the roots on this huge beech tree. Obviously, there's been extensive soil erosion over many (probably hundreds) of years, and this has resulted in the tree adding more and more strength to it's roots, in order to support it's weight. I've never seen anything like this before, and I thought it was worthy of a photo: Below: Our son "Star", round at Kitty's mum's. He's looking forward to a treat from Granny!:

Thanks for sharing Johnny & Kitty, a lovely pic of Star! ;D You can catch a glimpse of the church when driving west on A47 this time of year too, not in the summer though as the leaves cover it. The pic of the beech tree is fascinating, I dont know why but visible roots like that always give me the heebie jeebies - anything from the tiniest bud to a huge tree.. but that's just me, I'm daft like that

I couldn't resist getting this photo of our two, first thing in the morning. This photo was taken at about 4.30am, and they were snuggled up close together. Whippet love eh? Here's Star, taken by Kitty:
