YES - YOUR DOG CLUB NEEDS YOU!
Things are going well regarding the planning behind the dog show. We've got a good background plan for the event, and we now know what help we require. Please contact Johnny if you can help out with any of the jobs listed below.
IN THE RUN UP TO THE SHOW WE WILL BE LOOKING FOR THE FOLLOWING VOLUNTEERS:
1. DOG SHOW ORGANISER: This person will supervise the development of the actual dog show. Creation of a programme relating to the use of both arenas – the dog show and suitable demonstrations by dog clubs/groups etc. Will devise a registration form to record the names of owners and their dog’s name, the dog show categories, timings, and the acquisition of suitable rosettes and possible prizes. Will try to source a suitable megaphone for use on the day. Will find suitable judge/judges for the day.
2. CLUB FUNDRAISER: Will develop ideas by which our club can promote itself on the day, and come up with ideas for club side shows (eg - “Splat-the-Rat” and “Toss-the-Welly” etc). Johnny has a couple of friends who have volunteered to assist with this, but we are still looking for someone to take charge of this vital area and become it's organiser.
ON THE DAY OF THE SHOW WE WILL BE LOOKING FOR THE FOLLOWING VOLUNTEERS:
1. DOG SHOW SUPERVISOR: Working as a team with the Dog Show Stewards - this person will supervise the overall running of the dog show from 10am-5pm. Will announce starting times for each category, and provide a commentary when needed. Will be responsible for, and pass onto the judge - the rosettes and dog show prizes.
2. DOG SHOW STEWARDS (2 Positions): Will assist the Dog Show Superviser throughout the day, and maintain contact with the visiting dog display groups and assist them when needed.
3. DOG SHOW JUDGE/JUDGES: We already have one person for this task, but another would be great, to split the job over the day.
4. CLUB FUNDRAISERS: Will staff the club stalls "Splat-the-Rat" & "Toss-the-Welly" on the day, John’s friend Jane will oversee the children’s play area, and will probably staff a kid’s stall, and her husband Nick will be doing kiddies face painting. However, we need at least another 2-4 people to cover this properly.
5. RAFFLE TICKET SALES: This person will sell raffle tickets for the events prize draw on behalf of The Dogs Trust. It's vitally important that they ensure people’s telephone numbers are on the reverse of the tickets, and will fold the tickets in preparation for the grand draw.
