At the meeting that we had last night - the memb.ers decided not to go ahead with the planned dog show at Sheringham Park in June next year.
There were a number of reasons behind this. I won't go into details on a public forum, but would state that our objectives for the show and the National Trust's requirements were not fully compatible. It is regrettable, but as a club - the memb.ers have made their decision as to what type of dog show they wish to stage, and with those objectives in mind - it simply would not be possible to have the show at Sheringham.
On behalf of the club - I have expressed our best wishes to the National Trust for their events programme for next year, and we look forward to working with them in the near future.
I am now looking at a couple of alternative venues - one of which we have already been along to, and have attended a dog show there. The other is a very well known venue near North Walsham.
I will be involved in further discussions with the management of these venues, and hope that a definitive outcome will be available within the next fortnight.
Thanks to those memb.ers who have continued to support the proposed dog show at the meetings we've had - it's very appreciated.
