My sister whos an avid David Coultard fan talked me into parting with some serious money and going along with her and her family to the British Grand Prix yeterday. We left home at 3.30am and got to Silverstone at 6am, i was thinking what are we going this early for and was amazed to see so many people already seated in deckchairs, and with flags flying above them with their favourite drivers on. So we to set up our chairs got out the flags, by 6.30 i was in my shorts and applying the sun cream, and boy did it get hot. At 11 i decided to go and buy a baseball cap to protect my thining head of hair, not really having a fovourite driver i wasnt to concerned what was written on it. The cheapest i could find was £25 so yes my head by the end of the day was really burnt. The morning was taken up by 2 other races and a display by the red arrows, oh and a streaker running round the track. The big race started at 1pm having never seen a a formula 1 in action before i was amazed at the noise they make and the speed they go, it dosnt look that quick on the tv but they are definately motoring blink and you miss them. After 10 laps i hadnt got a clue who was winning, but didnt really care, cos the atmosphere was brilliant. And after what seemed like no time at all they were on their last lap, some Columbian called montoya took the chequered flag and then it was all over. We packed up all our things and with one hundred and twenty thousand other people tried to leave the circuit, nightmare! we had a really excellent day out and would recommend the British Grand Prix to anyone. But take a hat cos my head is still soar.
