Hi All!! I'm posting this on behalf of a friend who's just lost her beloved hound. She would dearly love a whippet cross rescue adult dog. She would like a male and has another dog who is a westie (but really this is her partners as she loves the "hounds" more). There's no children in the house but my friend would like to go mountain biking in Thetford Forest with her hound and may come across children. My friend is an experienced dog owner, having rescued several dogs over the years. Her speciality is nervous scaredy dogs, with whom she works wonders with. Her last dog was like this and I must say most people couldn't have coped with him as he was so timid but she got the best out of him. She would love another timid dog as quite rightly she can then work her magic with him. If anyone knows of a whippet cross like this that needs a good home can they let me know? I said if anyone would know then you lovely people would! Thanks SJx

Thank you Tanya, any help is much appreciated and I'm sure posting in other forums might help her in her quest for her new dog to find her! I will have a look at your suggestions too and keep you updated. Thanks again SJx

Yes my friend is in Norfolk!
Thanks for all your suggestions so far, I've passed them on.
I know a puppy is not for her as she (like me) likes to have an adult rescue. Particularly a nervous dog as she can then work her magic.
I know she's prepared to wait for the right dog to find her.
Thanks for all the replies so far, is much appreciated.
SJx

Hi all, just wanted to raise this again as my friend is still waiting patiently for her whippety cross scaredy dog to find her! I know she regularly checks the forums and web pages you mentioned but unfortunately no hound has come to claim her yet. Thanks for looking! SJxx

just a thought. There are some suitable looking dogs on the Evesham Greyhound and Lurcher Rescue website - www.lurcher.org.uk, I know it would involve a bit of travelling but might be worth it for the right dog. I also wonder about the galgos on the www.greyhoundsinneed.co.uk. Certainly looks like they could do with a few home comforts after their previous lives.
