Hello New to the forum, I dont own a grey but have always like the look of them and since reading into the breed have read that they usually have wonderful temperaments, so one day I would love to own one. There are some points that concern me though. 1) I am not very strong, would this be a problem with the walking and exercising, 2)The worry of seeing a small furry and being dragged down the street at 40mph I'm sorry if my questions sound silly

Hi there,
Any good greyhound re-homing centre will match you to the hound as they all vary. Most greyhounds are very well behaved on the lead and walk along very quietly. Many are also well behaved, especially on the lead with other small furry beings but each hound is different. When you are ready to think about owning one, just make sure you go to a responsible specialist greyhound rehoming centre.
I am sure that you will, like so many before you, become a greyhound devotionee and be unable to imagine your life without one - they are truly wonderful pets (not that I'm biased in any way!!).

I would fully endorse what Rhoda has said. You are very welcome to attend any of our events, and meet up with us and our hounds. You don't have to be a member to do this - just feel free to come along and experience greyhounds (& whippets) at first hand, and talk to a variety of owners to get tips and advice. If you wish to check out some creditable rehoming organisations please check out the links below. Whatever you do, please, please, please do not answer any of those ads in the paper, because you might get a dog "dumped" onto you which will be totally unsuited. The centres below will match you up with the most approriate dog, and will provide you with sound advice. www.kerrygreyhounds.co.uk/www.nasatrust.co.uk/www.faithanimalrescue.co.uk/norfolk.retiredgreyhounds.org/ Good luck, and hopefully we might see you at a future event

Please take a look at my current foster girl.. she is sweet and gentle. When she spots something interesting I just say 'no' and she happily walks on without pulling. She has pretty good recall too for off lead excercise.
Hope you get your greyhound one day.
