Yesterday's Dog Show raised £300.00 for the Eastern Counties RGT.
The weather was overcast and raining for most of the day, but there were some bright patches. We had to spend over an hour holding the classes inside, which wasn't the best scenario.
The diverse weather obviously put many people off attending the show.
I would estimate that we had just over 250 people there. I believe that if it had been nice and sunny, that number could easily have been over 350 - and that would have had resulted in £100-£200 more in money raised.
Under the circumstances, £300 is a respectable amount, and I would sincerely like to express thanks to everyone who helped support this event, in particular:
Mick - who roped off the arena area, collected the carpets used inside the hall, and cleaned up the outside areas after the show
Sara & family - who set up and ran the Scurry.
Ben - Who hoovered up the carpets after the show (lifting two Dyson container fulls of dog hairs!)
Sue, Heather and Avril - Who helped out in the kitchen, doing stirling service!
Tanya - Who donated some nice little runner-up prizes for the kids (medals and little cups), and also took over the running of the show, to give me a break to have some rolls and a coffee!
Vickie - Who done a great job, selling the raffle tickets.
Rhoda - who helped out cleaning up afterwards, and manned the Kerry Greyhound stall during the show.
Kitty - Who represented the club, and answered enquiries about the club, and who also had to battle with a naughty "Star" on the day.
Nancy & Billy Warnes - Who got in the food, and worked in the canteen throughout the day.
Oscar Pet Foods - Who donated the Doggy Bags.
Nell's Place & Paula Fenton - who gave donations.
Notcutts Garden Centre - Who supplied raffle prizes
For Everyone Else- Who very kindly donated raffle prizes.
Karen (Dogs Trust)- Who judged classes, including the very difficult task of selecting the Best in Show.
Neville - The gentleman who let us use his dog club's mats for inside the hall.
There are many more people who helped out, so please forgive me if I've left you out. Your support was very much appreciated.
WELL DONE - AND THANK-YOU!
